Who we are
ET Search is operated as a personal project by Robin Fisher. We can be contacted at etsearchcontact@proton.me.
What data we publish and why
ET Search indexes Employment Tribunal judgments that are published by the UK government on GOV.UK under the Open Government Licence. These judgments are public documents and contain the names of parties, their representatives, witnesses, and other individuals involved in the proceedings.
Our legal basis for processing this data is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): making public legal decisions more accessible to people researching UK employment law. We did not collect this information ourselves — it was placed into the public domain by the Employment Tribunal Service and the Ministry of Justice.
Special category data
Some judgments necessarily contain special category data (for example, details of a disability, health condition, or religious belief) because that information was central to the claim. This data is processed on the basis of substantial public interest in transparency of judicial proceedings (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(g), Schedule 1 Part 2 DPA 2018).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (Article 15)
- Erasure of your personal data in certain circumstances (Article 17)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21)
- Restriction of processing while a request is being considered (Article 18)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16)
To exercise any of these rights, please email etsearchcontact@proton.me with the subject line "Data rights request" and include the URL of any case page you are concerned about. We will respond within one month as required by UK GDPR.
Erasure and objection requests
We take erasure and objection requests seriously. When we receive a valid request, we will remove the relevant case page from ET Search. Note that we cannot alter the underlying GOV.UK record, which is maintained by HM Courts & Tribunals Service.
Individual case pages on this site do not appear in search engine results (they carry a noindex directive). The search functionality on this site is therefore the primary means by which our index is accessed.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool. No personal data or IP addresses are stored. No cookies are set.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
